2.  Inquiry into international connectivity through Welsh ports and airports - Evidence session

2.1 The Chair welcomed Alec Don and Mark Andrews from Milford Haven Port Authority, Matthew Kennerley from Associated British Ports and Ian Davies from Stena Line to the meeting. Members questioned the witnesses.

 

Matthew Kennerley agreed to provide Members with a copy of a booklet on South West Energy Parks.

3.  Ministerial Scrutiny session - Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science

3.1 The Chair welcomed the Minister and her Officials. Members questioned the Minister.

 

3.2 The Minister agreed to provide a note on the following:

 

-     The Government’s interpretation of the latest GDP figures, and the wider context of figures relating to employment rates and also non-economic activity.

 

-     The conditions affecting match funding for different Welsh Government and EU funding programmes.

 

-     The definition of “value for money” and how it has been assessed within your evaluation of the Wales Economic Growth Fund and its impact on the economy – when available.

 

-     The Minister agreed to share with the Committee the exercise that is nearing completion on setting baselines and targets against which the impact of her department will be measured.

 

The Chair agreed to write to Minister for a written response on the outstanding questions from the session.
